Why I Started From Here

A few years ago, after my dad passed away unexpectedly, I watched my mom face a reality that I know many families experience.

My dad had always managed the finances, paperwork, and day-to-day responsibilities of running their household. Suddenly, my mom found herself responsible for countless unfamiliar tasks while grieving the loss of her husband. She was also beginning to experience mild cognitive challenges, making an already overwhelming situation even more difficult.

There are four of us kids, and we all wanted to help. But like many families, we lived in different cities, had full-time jobs, and were raising young children of our own. We did what we could, but it often felt like we were trying to piece together support from a distance.

As I searched for someone who could help my mom with the practical side of settling an estate, I found attorneys, accountants, financial planners, and real estate professionals—each serving an important role. But I couldn't find someone whose job was simply to help families navigate the countless administrative details that fall between those professions.

I kept thinking, There should be someone who does this.

That realization became the foundation for From Here After Loss Support.

My professional background has given me experience analyzing complex information, coordinating with attorneys and other professionals, managing documents and records, building systems and processes, and helping groups of people move toward a common goal. More importantly, it taught me how to bring structure and clarity to situations that can easily become overwhelming.

Today, I bring those skills to families who are navigating one of life's most difficult seasons. My goal is to provide the kind of practical, organized support I wished my own family had—helping clients understand what needs to be done, stay organized, and move forward with greater confidence and less stress.

I know firsthand that no one can take away the grief of losing someone you love. But I believe the practical responsibilities that follow don't have to be carried alone.
